I stepped into the frozen stillness of the night, the air biting at -20°, when I saw it, a teepee lit from within, its golden glow flickering against the dark. It felt like the perfect place, the perfect moment.
I set my camera and waited, shifting my weight to stay warm, excitement building with every passing moment. When I finally noticed a faint glow in the sky, I wasn’t sure if it was real—until my camera revealed the truth. The aurora was there, dancing above the teepee.
As the lights grew stronger, swirling and shifting across the sky, I stood still, completely absorbed. The cold no longer mattered. In its place was a quiet, steady warmth—something deeper. In that moment, I wasn’t just witnessing the aurora… I was feeling it. A connection to something vast, something timeless.
