All day, I had been tracking aurora activity, anticipation building as night approached. At -20°F, the chill should have been unbearable, but as I reached my destination, I barely noticed. I set up my camera, took a test shot, and my breath caught—ribbons of green light swirled across the sky. As the aurora ebbed and flowed, I felt impossibly small yet deeply connected to the universe. In that frozen stillness, I wasn’t just capturing the moment—I was part of it.
